I was watching the movie “Fantasia” the other day – one of my daughter’s favorite movies when she was young. A wonderful animated film! The are no words spoken just music!
Eight classical music pieces performed by the Philadelphia Orchestra with every imaginable instrument employed. Music! and colors! and animated figures on a screen! All delightfully blended to tell a story.
My favorite, the Nutcracker Suite by Tchaikovsky depicts the changing of seasons, from summer to autumn to winter. As MN people – we all can appreciate these changes! A variety of dances by fairies, fish, flowers, mushrooms, and leaves reflect the sounds and rhythms of such classic musical scores as:”Chinese Dance”, “Dance of the Flutes”, “Arabian Dance”, “Russian Dance” and “Waltz of the Flowers”.
If you haven’t had the chance to introduce your family to this ageless classic – do it now! A perfect summer time treat!
